Washington, DC – June 23, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — Today, Congressman Leonard Boswell announced the Department of Labor has awarded Goodwill Industries of Central Iowa a $199,875 job training grant as part of its Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program.

“Today’s announcement brings us one step closer to ending homelessness in Central Iowa,” Boswell said. “This grant targets a population that is particularly vulnerable to homelessness and provides them with the resources to begin again.  In a time of economic hardship for so many Americans, this job training grant is another example of how we are putting Iowans back to work.”

This grant is one of 97 homeless veteran assistance grants totaling $24.5 million. The grants are expected to provide approximately 14,000 jobs across the country.
