WOODWARD – August 3, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — The city of Woodward in Dallas County lost water pressure about 11 p.m. Thursday night during repairs to valves in a water main.
All residents should boil water until tests show that water is free from bacterial contamination and safe to drink.
Residents should let water boil for one minute and cool before using. They should use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water. Untreated water can be used for bathing and similar purposes.
The pressure loss occurred as the city worked to repair one leaking valve and discovered another leak. The city has repaired one valve expects to complete repairs on the second one yet Friday.
The city will flush water lines and take water samples for bacterial testing once pressure is restored. Residents should wait to use tap water for drinking until the DNR or city notify them water is safe to drink and the advisory is lifted.
