Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines Announces 2015 Strong Communities Award
Des Moines, Iowa – June 25, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — The Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB Des Moines) has announced details for the 2015 Strong Communities Award. Beginning on July 20, 2015, FHLB Des Moines members and partners will have the opportunity to win $15,000 to promote small business growth and retention in their communities.
The award recognizes the value that communities derive from economic development projects, from recruiting a new grocery store, renovating a historic building in the heart of the downtown district into a multi-use facility, supporting the expansion of a technology incubator, to understanding the importance of providing opportunities to small and minority contractors.
FHLB Des Moines members and partners throughout the district, including 13-states and three U.S. Pacific territories, are eligible to apply. The application period will open on July 20, 2015 and nominees will be accepted through August 31, 2015.
The process to determine two $15,000 winners, one urban and one rural, will feature a voting component that will be open to the public. For information about the award or how to apply, visit www.fhlbforcommunity.com or contact:
