Gov. Branstad to sign Safe at Home bill, House File 397, and House File 615 into law Thursday
WASHINGTON, D.C. – May 6, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Gov. Terry E. Branstad will sign three bills, House File 585, more commonly known as the Safe at Home bill, House File 397 and House File 615 into law Thursday, May 7, 2015, at 10 a.m. in the Governor’s Formal Office.
House File 585 is an Act establishing an address confidentiality program in the Office of the Secretary of State for a victim of domestic abuse, domestic abuse assault, sexual abuse, stalking, and human trafficking and providing for a fee and including effective date provisions. Those expected to be in attendance for the bill signing include Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate, Rep. Dean Fisher, Marshalltown Police Chief Mike Tupper, Laurie Schipper, Executive Director of the Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Lindsey Pingel, Director of Community Engagement, Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence and other legislators. House File 585 passed the Iowa Senate 45-0 on April 15, 2015, and passed the Iowa House 94-0 on April 21, 2015.
House File 397 is an Act defining occasional work for purposes of the state child labor law.
House File 615 is an Act relating to the establishment, operation, and dissolution of rural improvement zones.
