Invite Someone Home Again This Holiday Season

-

November 18, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — The Sioux City Economic Development Department is continuing its campaign inviting former residents to move back to Sioux City this holiday season. Initially launched late last year, the “Home Again” marketing initiative will utilize local media including print, tv, bus signage, banners and electronic billboards to target parents and families who want to see their children move back to Sioux City. Advertising will begin this weekend and direct people to a web page affiliated with the City Economic Development website at www.locatesiouxcity.com/home

“Home Again” promotes the exciting developments Sioux City has witnessed in recent years and encourages parents to share the website with their children who grew up here. Factors important to those considering a move such as employment, housing, education, events and attractions provide additional information about Sioux City’s growth along with links to various community websites.

In addition to a nostalgic appearance including photos from the late 1970’s, the website includes a new feature this season entitled “Share Your Story”. The area offers an opportunity for people to write about their personal experiences as to why they chose to move back to Sioux City and why they enjoy living here.

A job forum is available for both employers and potential candidates to post information regarding employment opportunities and requests. Partnerships with the Young Professionals of Iowa Ambassador Program and Iowa Workforce Development are also helping to connect young professionals with employers in the area.

“We enjoy sharing the outstanding quality of place that Sioux City has to offer young professionals,” said Marty Dougherty, Sioux City Economic Development Director. “Through the Home Again campaign we are able to attract young talent to our region allowing our local businesses to prosper,” added Dougherty.
