“The State Housing Trust Fund grant announced today will not only provide one Nevada family with a place that they can be proud to call home, it will play a role in providing economic benefits to the entire community for many years to come,” said Iowa Finance Authority Executive Director Dave Jamison. “The Iowa Finance Authority is proud to partner with the Central Iowa Habitat for Humanity on this project which is an excellent example of the type of projects that the State Housing Trust Fund Project-Based program was designed to assist and is central to IFA’s mission in advancing affordable housing in Iowa.”
“Habitat for Humanity of Central Iowa will be able to complete this important housing project with the help of this State Housing Trust Fund grant,” said Habitat for Humanity of Central Iowa Executive Director Sandi Risdal. “The partnership of the Iowa Finance Authority has been an asset in providing us with the resources we need to move affordable housing projects forward in the communities we serve.”
The State Housing Trust Fund’s Project-Based Program has provided more than $5.5 million in funding to support more than 1,300 affordable housing units since the program’s inception in 2003. These awards have leveraged an additional $10.21 in other resources for every dollar of State Housing Trust Fund Project-Based program funding.
The Iowa Legislature created The Iowa Finance Authority, the state’s housing finance agency, in 1975 to undertake programs to assist in the attainment of housing for low-and moderate-income Iowans.
