$437,084 to Iowa Workforce Development after CDS Layoffs

-

WASHINGTON, DC – September 13, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — Senator Chuck Grassley today said that the U.S. Department of Labor has awarded $437,084 to Iowa Workforce Development through the National Emergency Grant program.

MATURA Action Corporation will operate the funds to help provide employment related services to workers affected by layoffs at CDS Global in Red Oak.

“This assistance will help provide training and new skills to the affected workers, so they can get back on their feet and compete for new jobs in the future,” Grassley said.

National Emergency Grants provide supplemental dislocated worker funds to states, local boards, and other eligible entities in order to respond to the needs of dislocated workers and communities affected by major economic dislocations and other worker dislocation events which cannot be met with formula allotments.
