Branstad appoints Camille Valley to the Iowa Property Assessment Appeal Board
WASHINGTON, D.C. — (RealEstateRama) — Gov. Terry E. Branstad announced today that he has appointed Camille Valley to the Iowa Property Assessment Appeal Board.
Valley’s term on the Iowa Property Assessment Appeal Board begins Friday, August 26, 2016 and ends April 30, 2019. Valley, who resides in Johnston, will be eligible for a full six-year appointment in April 2019 at the conclusion of her partial appointment announced today. She will be replacing Jacqueline Rypma of Clive, who resigned on June 30, 2016.
Valley is a licensed attorney who possesses extensive professional experience dealing with property assessments and has conducted over 3000 contested case hearings. Valley has been a member of the Iowa State Bar since 2002.
The Iowa Property Assessment Appeal Board is a three member body and is responsible to review any final decision, finding, ruling, determination, or order of a local board of review relating to protests of an assessment, valuation, or application of an equalization order. Board members are also tasked with affirming, reversing, or modifying a final decision, finding, ruling, determination, or order of a local board of review and order the payment or refund of property taxes in a matter over which the board has jurisdiction.
Valley’s appointment is a full-time position and she will be paid a salary of $112,070. Her appointment is also subject to Iowa Senate confirmation when the legislature convenes in January 2017.
