Washington, DC – April 29, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — Iowa Congressman Tom Latham is pleased to announce that the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown will receive more than $29 million in federal funds for a building replacement project.
“We have all benefitted from the service and sacrifice of veterans,” Congressman Latham said. “We owe them the best care we can provide, and that means having new state-of-the-art facilities.”
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs grant totals $29,044,362 and will cover 65 percent of the anticipated costs of construction for the Sheeler and Loftus Building replacement project.
The state has guaranteed the balance of necessary funding, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
