Congressman Loebsack Secures $1.6 Million in FEMA Grants for Flood-Damaged Homes
Washington, DC - June 9, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — Today, Congressman Loebsack announced $1.6 million in FEMA funds from the Hazard Mitigation Program for Linn County. The acquisition will protect the community from future damages while reducing emergency response and evacuation costs. The properties include flood damaged residential properties along the Wapsipinicon and Cedar rivers in Linn County, Iowa.
$210,000 in Loan Guarantees and Grants to Glenn Miller Birthplace Society
WASHINGTON, DC - June 9, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Rural Development has awarded a loan guarantee of $120,000 and a grant of $90,000 to the Glenn Miller Birthplace Society in Clarinda through the Community Facility Guaranteed Loan and Grant Program.
Area Road Construction Update
April 01, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — Jackson Street Reconstruction: 22nd Street to 24th Street – This total reconstruction project, which is a continuation of what was constructed last summer, requires the closure of Jackson Street between 22nd Street and 24th Street. North bound traffic will be detoured west one block to Nebraska, then north two blocks on Nebraska to 24th Street, then east one block back to Jackson Street. South bound traffic will be detoured one block west to Nebraska, then south two blocks to 22nd Street, then east one block back to Jackson Street. In addition, beginning this Thursday, April 2, 2009, and continuing for approximately two weeks, Road Closed to Thru Traffic on Jackson Street will be used from 21st to 22nd Street and from 24th to 25th Street.
